Beginning this year, the State of Ohio began to transition
school systems from counting the number of days in the year to counting the
number of total hours a school is in session.
Bradford EVSD has been a part of that transition and we fall under the
new rules this year. What that means is
that instead of looking to a number of state mandated calamity days as a
district we need to meet the state minimum of 1001 academic hours for grades
7-12 and 910 hours for grades K-6. So
every time we are out of school, whether that is a cancellation of an entire
day or a two hour delay or an early dismissal, these all count against our
total number of hours.
