School Board Adopts 2019-2020 Calendar

The Bradford School Board has adopted the 2019-2020 calendar. The adopted calendar can be found HERE.


Make-up Days Added

Due to the fact that we missed school on Friday, February 1 and Monday, February 11, there will be two make-up days added to the calendar. The first will be on on Friday, February 15 and the second will be on Monday, March 18.  A third make-up day for the closing on February 20 will be May 24, 2019.

January 31 Deadline for Distinguished Alumni Nominations

January 31, 2019 is the deadline for the 2019 distinguished alumni nominations. An information sheet can be found HERE and the nomination form can be found HERE. If you have any questions, contact Bob Daugherty at bdaugherty@bradford.k12.oh.us or call at (937)448-2719.

School Board Honored at School Board Meeting

The five members of the Bradford Exempted Village Schools School Board were honored at the School Board Meeting held on Monday, January 14. Dr. Scott Swabb, Mrs. Maria Brewer, Pastor Louis Reindel, Mr. Scott Besecker and Mr. Mike Miller were recognized for their service to the community and the school. Mrs. Moore's publication class prepared a video as a way for the students and staff to show their gratitude.

Tonight's school Board Meeting will start with an reorganization meeting taking place at 6:30 pm with the regular meeting following immediately afterward.



Community Football Meeting

 Please join us in the School Auditeria on Wednesday, January 9th at 6:30pm to discuss options for the Bradford Railroader football program. We would love to have community members attend and help guide the direction of the program and to give us feedback on how to improve it. If you have a child who is or is considering playing football or if you are just a fan, please plan on attending.

We would like your input on improving our Junior High and High School football program. If you could please fill out a short online survey, we will be able to use this information to determine the direction the program needs to go to be more successful.

FFA Fruit Sale

Annual FFA Fruit Sales


The Bradford FFA is conducting their annual fruit sale from October 11-November 6. They are selling fruit, cheese, BBQ sauce, beef jerky, summer sausage and beef sticks. Bus Aide Needed

The Bradford Exempted Village School District is currently accepting applications for a part-time bus aide
for an AM special education route. Applicants will assist in providing safe transportation for students
with emotional and behavioral issues.

Dental Forms

Parents, Dental Forms will be sent home this week. Please feel free to fill out the forms completely and return to school. This is an opportunity for any student K-12 who does NOT have a dentist to have dental care here at school. DEADLINE for dental forms is Sept 7. Elementary Parent and Family Involvement Survey

Our school was fortunate to receive the Striving Readers Grant, which provides resources to help teach literacy in the elementary. As a requirement of the Grant, we need to survey our parents. This survey will give us important information to help us better teach your children.

You can either fill out the physical copy of the survey which will be picked up at Open House or sent home with you child or you can fill out the survey online at THIS website. Please only fill out one copy of the survey (either physical or online) per family.

Parking Lot Updates

Rain held off the painting crew this weekend. They are striping the back parking lot this morning and it will be open tomorrow. The front will be striped tomorrow and open Wednesday. Thanks for your patience and Go Roaders!

High School and Elementary Offices Closed

The High School and Elementary Offices will be closed starting Thursday, June 14 and will reopen on August 1. Anyone new to the district that needs to enroll their students can do so starting August 1. Have a great summer.


In an effort to allow our community to support our Lady Roaders Fastpitch team and enjoy commencement, the graduation ceremonies will now be moved from 2:30 to 3:30 on Saturday. This coupled with the the game moving to 11:00 should help our students prepare for graduation.

High School Graduation will be on May 26 at 2:30pm.

Block Party

There will be a block party for elementary students and their families on East Main Street in front of the library on Wednesday, April 25 from 6pm-8pm.

High School Yearbook Order Forms

Wellness Week February 26- March 2

Wellness Week:

Wellness week has been planned for all K-12 students and staff here at Bradford. It will be the week of February 26- March 2. We will have multiple well activities for the students to participate in everyday. We will also be hosting the Power Team for an assembly. Please have your students dress in comfortable clothes and gym shoes everyday except for Thursday picture day.

Sign Language Class

Mrs. Zartman, a certfied educational interpreter, is offering sign language classes to the public on Wednesdays starting February 7. These classes will last from 3:15 - 4:00 PM. There are no cost for these classes but donations will be accepted. Children under 10 need an adult to attend classes with them. Please RSVP Mrs. Zartman at dzartman@bradford.k12.oh.us .

Events Cancelled Due to Weather

Because of the safety concerns of the inclement weather, all afternoon and evening activities for Friday, January 12, 2018, have been cancelled. The boys varsity basketball game verses Mississinawa Valley has been rescheduled for Monday, January 15 at the same time. 


Some of tomorrow's activities are still being discussed. The powerlifting meet as well as the indoor track meet have been cancelled. Tomorrows basketball games will be announced by 8:00 am Saturday morning.


Wednesday January 10 is a scheduled 2-hour delay for staff development.  Because this was scheduled in advance, the bus going to Upper Valley Career Center and ACES will run at the normal time in the morning.  Thank you and if you have any questions, please call the school.


Distinguished Alumni Awards

Nominations for the 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award are now open. The Distinguised Alumni Award was created to honor BHS alumni or former staff members each year who are noted in their field of endeavor or recognized for their expertise and good works by their peers and others. If you know anyone who should be nomiminated, please use THIS form to nominate them. Deadlines for nomination is January 31, 2018.

2 Hour Delay on Wednesday December 13

There will be a two hour delay on Wednesday December 13 for staff in-service.



7th Grade is Sponsoring a Mitten Tree

Mr. Baumer's 7th grade Ag class is sponsoring a Mitten Tree. You can donate your gently used glves, hats and scarves and hang them on the tree in the school lobby. The gloves, hats and scarves will be washed before they are donated. It would also help if they are washed before dontating them. Half of the clothing will be donated to the Bradford Resource Center and the other half will stay at the school for all the keds that need them.

If you are need of any gloves, hats or scarves, please tell your teacher or the office and you will be given them. 

All donations must be made by December 20.

7th Grade Washington DC Meeting

There will be a meeting for current 7th grade students and their parents who are plannning on going on the 2018 8th grade Washington DC trip. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, Febuary 20 at 7pm in the Auditeria. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Sneed at 937-448-2719 or email her at lsneed@bradford.k12.oh.us.

High School Publications class thanks for Donations Publications with new computers

The High School Publications Class would like to thank the Miami County Foundation and the Covington Eagles for the purchase of three Macs. Mr. McKee's Algebra 1 class is studying data and its collections and analysis. Students in grades 6-12 please go to the following link complete the survey. The subject of this survey is the 1 to 1 initative that our school will soon be implementing.

Scheduled 2 Hour Delay

The Bradford Exempted School District will be on a scheduled two hour delay on Wednesday, September 13 for staff development.

Parent Night Rescheduled

To avoid conflicts with the fair, elementary parent night has been rescheduled from August 23 for Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 5:00-7:00 in the auditeria.

Distinguished Alumni Assembly

The Distinguished Alumni Committee has decided to postpone this year’s Distinguished Alumni Assembly.  With only one nomination this year, the committee felt it would be the perfect time to take a year and evaluate the by-laws and procedures for the selection process.  We will continue accepting nominations for the 2018 Distinguished Alumni Assembly through January 31, 2018 and look forward to honoring another distinguished alumni.

Early Relase on January 13, 2017

Please be advised that next Friday (January 13) is not a 2 hour early release.  Next Friday (January 13) is a 1:30 PM early release.  Please ignore the district calendar.

Trick or Treat for Food

The Bradford High School Junior Class and National Honor Society will be collecting food items for the Bradford Resource Center on Halloween, October 31, 2016 from 6 to 8.

If you live out of town and want to donate food, please feel free to drop off the food at Bradford High School on Monday, October 31 or you may drop off the food at 248 N. High St., Bradford from 5 PM to 7:30 PM. If you live in town, students will be around to pick the food items up.  If it’s more convenient to you, just leave the food items on your porch and students will pick them up.

Parking Lots Closed

Due to repaving, the front office parking lot and the main parking lot by the gym doors will be closed from Tuesday, August 7 to Friday, August 10. Please park in the south (playground) parking lot during this time. Also, the lane off of Children's Home Bradford Rd will also be closed, so please enter the south parking lot from St. Rte. 721. Sorry for any inconvience and thank you for your understanding.

BHS Softball Tournament Information

The Varisty Softball State Semi-finals will be played at 10am on Friday June 1, 2018. The game will be played at Firestone Stadium loacated at 1575 Firestone Parkway, Akron, Ohio. We will be playing Hillsdale.

The Finals will be played on Saturday, June 2 at 4pm against the winner of the Defiance Tinora and Strasburg-Franklin Game. The Finals will be also played at Firestone Stadium.

All tickets are $8.00. You can purchase presale tickets from the School Board Office on Wednesday and Thursday from 10am-4pm. If you buy your tickets now, you should be able to avoid lines.

If you are unable to go to the game, WTGR will be broadcasting live on 97.5FM, wtgr.com and the WTGR App. My Spectrum Sports will be rebroadcasting the Championship Game at 5:00pm on Sunday.

Latest One Call

Good afternoon.


I am calling to remind you that tomorrow, Tuesday, September 26 is picture day.  Students are asked to dress up to create a positive lasting memory.  Seniors will be asked to get their picture taken for the composite that will hang in the hallway, so senior guys should wear a dress shirt and tie, and senior girls should wear a nice top, sweater or dress.  The photographers will be ready at 7:35 for those students that leave for Upper Valley Career Center or other off-campus commitments so for those of you that leave campus,  please get your picture taken before leaving tomorrow morning.

    The car pick-up system is going quicker with students getting out to the cars and your help with this made a HUGE difference. The issue that we are having now is that there is congestion due to many factors . . .

Open House

Bradford Schools will have their Open House on Tuesday, August 21 from 5pm to 7pm. Please come out and meet your teachers! The Athletic Boosters will be providing hot dogs to anyone who donate a canned good for our community food bank. The school will provide pop.

Pre-Sale Tickets

Presale Tickets are available in the High School office for the Bradford v. New Bremen game on August 25th. Adults are $6.00 and students are $4.00. All tickets at the door are $7.00.



Board Meeting Time Changed

Due to a conflict with the Band Concert, the December School Board Meeting on December 10 will start at 6:00pm instead of 6:30pm.
